DJSun, president of JKS Investment Group in Koreatown, is our District Governor (District 5280). He is responsible for providing support and guidance to 62 clubs with more than 2,500 members. The district stretches from Santa Clarita in the north, south to Hermosa Beach, and east to Downey and Glendale.

 

“The power and capabilities that we possess as Rotarians are so invaluable and should not be wasted,” said Sun.  “We have the ability and means to deliver someone’s wish, whether it is for clean water for remote villages, surgery for children born with cleft palates, eradication of the polio virus, or supporting education initiatives. This is our mission, our responsibility.”

 

Sun was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, and came to the United States in 1982 to attend Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where earned a bachelor’s degree in account- ing. He then went to Oregon State University where he was awarded his MBA.

 

He and his family moved to Los Angeles in 1989, and he joined the Kaufman Group, a commercial and industrial real estate brokerage company and became a partner in 1994. In 1996, Sun formed JKS Investment Group to manage and advance his investments in commercial real estate.
