I am filled with excitement, gratitude, and a deep sense of purpose as I begin my journey as this year’s president of the Rotary Club of Woodland Hills. This moment is more than just a new title—it's a fresh opportunity to lead with heart, to serve with passion, and to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. I am looking forward to a year of extraordinary accomplishments—achievements that will be built not just on goals and projects, but on the shared values of kindness, service, and community.
One of the initiatives I am most proud to introduce is our Kindness Campaign, with a special focus on bullying prevention. We know that one act of kindness can ripple outward, creating change in ways we may never fully see. By spreading compassion and awareness, we can empower both young people and adults to stand up, speak out, and lift one another up.

This campaign isn’t just about stopping negative behavior, it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected. Together, we will foster safe spaces in our schools, neighborhoods, and online communities—because kindness should never be optional.
As we begin this year, I’d like to leave you with a short poem to inspire us on this path:
"Be the Light"
By Unknown
When the world feels cold and dark and gray,
Be the light that shows the way.
With open hearts and helping hands,
We plant the seeds, where kindness stands.
A smile, a word, a simple deed,
Can meet a soul in deepest need.
And though we’re many, our mission’s one:
To serve with love till the work is done.
Together, we will light the way—with compassion, with courage, and with unwavering dedication to service above self. Thank you for trusting me with this role. Let’s make this year unforgettable.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Christy
