We Lost a Great Humanitarian: Bud Cashen

RIP in peace, Bud Cashen . . . .a wonderful Rotarian who gave so much of not just his money, but also his time and energy to do Rotary projects around the world. Every 2 years for as long as I've known him, Bud funded a project in Papua, New Guinea to build something. He would go with a small group of Rotarians from the states and meet up with another group close to New Guinea and they would live and work for several weeks in a remote region while building a school, a home or something that was needed. Two years ago, while on one of these trips, a cholera outbreak occurred in a remote area up the river from where they were working and Bud flew supplies up to the site to help stem the outbreak. The world has lost a great humanitarian.
